Industrial/Mechanical Engineering (IE/ME) Logistics Manager

Position Description Mission Delegate tasks to direct reports in order to support production KPI's (S,Q,D,C,E and P) Keep projects on schedule, and within budget; Perform responsibilities associated with warehousing and logistics (time standards, manufacturing related tools and equipment, and process documentation); Guide, support and coach direct reports to use lean manufacturing tools and employee involvement to work toward continuous improvement in the manufacturing operations; Support implementation of Volvo Production System and Operational Development (VPS and OD); recommend and execute plans to establish industrial capacity in support of production rate proposal; Oversee, develop and improve processes, quality and procedures in manufacturing and other support functions to reduce costs, and improve productivity and throughput; Support short and long plan industrial plan to achieve flexible and efficient capacity solutions; select optimum capital equipment as appropriate; Juustify and oversee purchase, installation and start-up; Serve as a catalyst and technical resource for team problem solving and continuous improvement; manage the implementation of Change to the warehousing and logistics processes; Ensure the auditing of processes and machines, and provide feedback to the Production Areas for continuous improvement; Provide training and support direct reports and cascading to their depts.; Ensure good, bi-directional communications between all levels of the department through the use of staff meetings, daily status meetings, etc.; and perform responsibilities common to all managerial/supervisory positions (i.e. hire, fire, evaluate performance, administer policies, coach, discipline, communicate, train and develop, problem solve and motivate) for optimum control of the company's human resources. Supervise 1 Materials Supply Manager, 1 Senior Processor and 2 Manufacturing Engineer IIIs. Requirements Bachelor or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering/Technology or Mechanical Engineering and 4 years of experience in the job offered or 4 years of experience in manufacturing processes in a heavy equipment industry and capital/budgeting duties. Special skills - 4 years of experience in warehousing and logistics, including logistics layout developments, manpower calculation, value stream mapping and process design capabilities; 2 years of indirect management and project management experience; 2 years of experience designing flows for production, Just In Time process, lean manufacturing concept, continuous improvement techniques; and 2 years project management for logistics, flows, warehouse design and line feeding flows. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
